If the “strategic intent” of the “content for traffic” model isn’t understood, it’s easy for content writers and SEO agencies to be WAY off track.

As an Amazon seller, your view of the world is different. It’s not about optimising for the best Ad network or niches. It’s about servicing your requirements as an Amazon Seller.

Whether those seller requirements be;

  • Traffic for product launches launch

Essentially, if it’s not a “brand website” it appears to look like a niche affiliate site, or “authority site”.

Removing the “affiliation” of the website with your brand does give you more free license to write “review articles” comparing your product with your competition – without the risk of the reader being completely discrediting your review.

A typical affiliate site owner is looking to make a sale. Any sale. Any product. It doesn’t matter to them. You, on the other hand want to sell YOUR product…

It makes sense therefore to become your own advertiser. Positioning your products statically within review and info articles AND dynamically across the site.

Your site structure, internal links and general approach to content therefore needs to be built with this in mind.

These core differences mean it’s easy to get off track. Especially if using service providers with a conventional understanding and approach.
